Here at Albert Road we are proud to have a patient group who provide us with an insight to the views, thoughts and ideas of our patients.
The Group is called Albert Road and has been established for 11 years. During this time they have supported the practice in a number of ways such as Fund-Raising and helping at Flu sessions. More recently they have helped us to produce a patient survey.
Albert Road PG meets approximately 6 times a year and currently has 16 members. The Group is a mix of men and women ranging in age from 38 to 82
To obtain wider views the patient group currently PRODUCES A NEWSLETTER AND HAS A FACEBOOK PAGE, AS WELL AS MEMBERS TALKING TO OTHER GROUPS TO WHICH THEY BELONG. The group would like to hear more from YOUNG FAMILIES but we appreciate it is not always possible with busy lives to attend meetings. If you would like to be involved but would find attending meetings difficult please contact Bernie Jones on 01743 709601 and we will discuss how your views can be represented regularly in a way that is convenient to you.
Members of the patients group have experience of a range of medical conditions and situations and this knowledge is very valuable in helping us support specific needs; however they are also very proud of their role in bringing forward the views of all members of the community and support every patient by having their concerns and comments heard if they are asked to do so.
The Practice Survey this year was based around developing the look and feel of the public areas of the new building. The results of this survey can be found by clicking here. These results were discussed with the patients group and the following actions have been agreed:
- The colour schemes for both practices were to be separate but complimentary.
- The colours were identified as needing to be Bright & Airy and Cool & Calming
- The developers would produce some visuals based on detailed discussions with the patients groups.
- Specific main colours for both practices were agreed as Pale Blue for Albert Road and Pale Green for Mount Pleasant.
- Main priorities within the waiting area were identified as:-
- Large play area for children
- Good quality comfortable seating
- Pictures/TV/Radio/Books in waiting room
- Good quality toilets and Baby Change facilities
- Main Access Priorities which will be fulfilled:-
- Large car park with easy access
- Accessible rooms and building
- Clear Directional signs within the building
- Good disabled access
The Practice will work with the developers to ensure that these priorities are reflected within the new building.
